An earthquake of magnitude 5.9 occurred on Monday, July 22, 2013 in central China, according to the U.S. Geological Survey USGS .
The tremors were recorded at 07.45 local time (03.45 MSK) in Gansu Province. The epicenter was located 13 kilometers from the nearest village. Center lies at a depth of about ten kilometers.
The death toll in the earthquake that struck on Monday in central China
has risen to 47 people, more than 270 were hospitalized with injuries.
